1/30 - 10:15pm - Monday Snow Going East?

The latest GFS, NAM, and even the ECMWF (Euro) are taking our storm on Monday well to the east now. It's strange how all the models changed at once last night with this shift. I'm not sold on the far eastern track that it's taking, but I'm beginning to think that the models I posted yesterday are too far west. We'll see how this shapes up today and tomorrow.

The latest numbers from LG&E show that 172,000 are still without power and 11,329 lines are down. Still looks like 7-10 days before everyone gets power back.

Ryan - We had a storm similar to yours in Memphis back in '94. The # without power was in the hundreds of thousands and it took a MONTH to get all but a handful back on. I hope your 7-10 days is right, but that's what they told us initially too. Then it was 2 weeks, then 3, then 4... Most were back on in about 2 weeks as substations were energized, but individual lines and homes took longer. Best of luck up there!

Oh gosh I hope we don't have a repeat of '94. The bad thing about our power situation is that winds of near 20mph are coming through this afternoon, possibly knocking down more tree limbs.

I saw the JCPS news this morning and breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks for sharing!

I am nervous about the wind situation. I know 20 is not a huge deal but it is with ice still all over the trees. The sun is also kind of peeking in and out today so that might help a little!
