We're on the road to Lubbock, Texas right now, which is our target area for the day. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk for this area, and we're also under a 10% risk for tornadoes. Instability, shear, and winds are all looking very good for later this afternoon, but the flies in the ointment right now are moisture and cloud cover. A cloud shield is moving into Texas right now from New Mexico will have to clear out before we can see any good severe storms. On the moisture side, dewpoints are in the 50's around Lubbock, which is too low. Should dewpoints not rise this afternoon, we'll have storms with high bases. We'll see how both of these things develop this afternoon.
