Saw this on Belski's blog today and found it a little disheartening. A storm chaser has been arrested in Texas for allegedly blocking the road. From what it sounds like, it could be just a case of overreaction to a simple infraction. I don't really have to worry about this on my trip in two weeks because the company I'm working for always looks out for the safety of others and obeys the law. We're not just 'yahoos' going to get the perfect picture; We're taking in the whole storm.

Arresting somebody seems a little extreme, but just watch the news lately and you come to expect that from cops. Those views aside, I speak from experience when I say that you can be cited by police for stopping on a highway for non-emergency situations. In Kansas, I believe they actually passed a law allowing police to ticket storm chasers for stopping on the side of the road. You will almost definitely find a few dummies on your trip. Hopefully they don't end up ruining it for everyone.
