12/16 - 11:30am - Oops...

Yeah... hmmm... That snow didn't really come did it? There was enough moisture on the radar last night for 1-2" of snow, but it just faded away before it got here. Now we're left with high wind and cold temperatures. Oh well, maybe we'll get lucky next time. Sorry about that one folks.

I'm sorry, Ryan... that's too bad. For all of us, that is.

I never thought the 6 to 8 inches that was advertised by WAVE, WHAS & FOX would come true. All you had to do was look at the QPF output and you couldn't possibly get that amount. I think WLKY had the smallest amounts of anyone in Louisville and even that didn't come true. The best dynamical forcing was well north and that's why all the snow that was in W. KY and SW IN got picked up and quickly lifted northward. I think many of the local meteorologists wanted this to be a big snowstorm, so "wishcasting" became a problem. Even after this storm showed its hand, many were talking accumulating snow in Louisville. As for your forecast... Don't appologize. The Ohio Valley is likely the hardest place to forecast a snow event in the US. Just continue to learn from any mistakes and brag when you nail the next snow forecast!
